Last Shabbat in March 2014:
Reminder: Now that the clocks have changed to DST, this first Shabbat back from UAlbany’s Spring Break will be on the late Spring/Early Fall schedule: Prayers 7pm and Shabbat Dinner at 8pm. Although the actual Shabbat starting time changes slightly each week, we keep Shabbat dinner at 8pm until the clocks switch back in the Fall.
So dinner is at 8pm! And prayers are at 7pm.
Special this Shabbat? It will be the first week back after break and a nice chance to catch up with friends. On Shabbat morning we take out two Torahs and read the “HaChodesh”, the 4th of 4 special Torah readings this time of year, and we bless the new Hebrew month of Nissan, which means Passover is around the corner! On Saturday Night Hillel is hosting their Masquerade-themed annual Semi-Formal at the Interfaith Center (the food is being prepared at Shabbos House) tickets are available at SA until the weekend and then at the door on Sat Night.
Next Shabbat (first in April 2014) will Hillel Dinner at Campus Center, and Cholent-CookOff at Shabbos House with tasting and voting at Shabbos Lunch. All recipes and ingredient lists must be submitted by Monday evening for inclusion in the Cholent Cookoff and all recipes must be prepared at Shabbos House. A maximum of 5 teams and recipes can participate.
