An annual tradition since 2000, Shabbos House hosts a meaningful and memorable Grad Party for students and their friends on the Sunday one week prior to graduation, and Kosher meals and open house welcome to graduates and their families over Graduation Weekend.
What makes this year different (aside for the graduates, of course!) is that Graduation Day falls on the biblical Jewish holiday of Shavuot (which begins on Sat Night and runs until Monday night). We will have an regular Shabbat meals on Friday Night and Shabbat lunch and an open-house welcome for graduates and their families on Sunday afternoon, but will also host prayer services and holiday meals for all of Shavuot weekend (Friday Night thru Monday afternoon) for those families observant of the holiday who will be staying up here. See GRAD WKND tab below for more details.
Thanks to parents and alumni and friends for their support of all types of Shabbos House activities and events, including these Graduation festivities. These graduation events are sponsored in large part by the L’chaim Student Group (Student Association funded) which is especially important on Graduation Weekend when no other Kosher food options are available for parents and families on campus.
