Makers Space is the new rage in schools and organizations the world over. It’s a creative hands-on lab with 3-D printing and other tools to transition ideas and concepts into real world tangibles.
Two UAlbany students recently founded the Future Tech Club in the Informatics Dept, open to all students, with the goal of creating a Makers Space right here at UAlbany available and accessible to all. And two of these student founders are with us tonight in the Sukkah.
A Sukkah can also be viewed as a Makers Space. It is one of those rare times when Jews get handy and actually make something physical that works. And a Sukkah is more than just walls of canvas or wood. It’s about creating a unique space within, a special atmosphere.
We wish the Future Tech club much success. They have a gofundme campaign to help purchase some of this cutting edge technology for student use.
And we wish each and every one of us to truly make the most of this space, to internalize and absorb as much of the Sukkah as possible, to make it part of our lives.
