Surely many of you have seen the terrible news of Rabbi Zvi Kogan, the missing 28-year-old Chabad Rabbi in Abu Dhabi UAE found murdered by terrorists.
This coming week is the annual Kinus HaShluchim, the international conference of Chabad Lubavitch rabbis. It’s a time that highlights the lives & work of the Rebbe’s Shluchim (emissaries, Chabad House/Center directors/families) but especially those in far-flung remote locations – like Rabbi Zvi Kogan OBM HYD in the UAE.
The Rebbe would always encourage an increase in light in times of darkness, added & strengthened mitzvot as a response. A large part of Rabbi Kogan’s work in Abu Dhabi was providing Kosher food (and he was abducted soon after leaving the Rimon Kosher Supermarket on Thursday) so it seems especially fitting to do something extra in areas of Kosher in his memory.
May his memory be a blessing, may his wife and family find comfort and solace. May Shluchim families and all of our people around the world be (and feel) safe and protected.
